The digital world – are you a part of it?

July 9, 2008

If you are reading this post, then it is very likely that you are addicted to the web and you come across many blogs on the net and like to read about them. I thought of writing this post to express my views on how we are living in a digital world full of gadgets and accessories. You name it – the Apple products iPod, iPhone, iMac or the blackberry or the laptop that you are currently working on. Everything is built on top of some or the other digital technology. We consume so much of it every day, that life without these things are unimaginable! Just think for a second – we have lived through the dark ages to this age of bits and bytes. These gadgets have indeed made our life sophisticated yet complex. How? If you want to stay connected to your friends and family, you need to own one of these gadgets. Else, you will be left out. You might be staying in a remote country side town, where the reach of internet is not so much. Would you then still be a member of the digital blogosphere? Would you still be always connected to the internet through some mode or the other? May be not. So in such a case, you are not really riding the digital bandwagon.

Think about it – today when technology worns out so fast, can you afford not to be participative in the digital world? May be you do not care much about being abreast of the happenings in the world or you do not have a network of friends to deal with. But if your close friends do want to remain connected to the digital blogosphere, can you afford not to be a part of it? Will it not render you outdated? Only you can answer this question. All I can say is that the digital world changes very fast and that is as true as it can get.
